Studio Policies

At Tails of ATX Photography, we’re dedicated to creating a safe, stress-free, and fun experience for both dogs and their humans. To help us capture your pup at their very best, we’ve put together a few studio policies to ensure every session runs smoothly. Please take a moment to review them before your visit.

To ensure the best possible experience for you and your pup, please review and adhere to the following studio policies:

1. Potty-Trained Pups Only (Mostly!)

All dogs must be fully potty trained before entering the studio.
🐶 Exception: If you're booking a puppy session, please let us know in advance—we love working with puppies and will prepare accordingly! Puppy pads and extra cleaning supplies will be on hand, just in case.

2. Health & Wellness

For the safety of all our furry clients:

  • Your dog must be free of fleas, ticks, parasites, and contagious illnesses (including kennel cough, parvovirus, etc.).

  • If your pup has had recent exposure to any contagious condition, please reschedule your session.

  • We reserve the right to turn away any pet that appears visibly ill or infested upon arrival.

3. Vaccinations

All dogs must be up to date on core vaccinations (Rabies, DHPP, and Bordetella).
This helps us maintain a healthy and safe environment for everyone.

4. Behavior & Safety
  • Dogs should be socialized and not aggressive toward people.

  • If your dog has reactivity issues, please let us know ahead of time so we can take extra precautions or schedule a private session.

  • Owners are responsible for maintaining control of their pets during the session.

5. Arrival & Check-In

Please arrive on time for your session. If you're running late, let us know—we’ll do our best to accommodate, but extended time may not always be possible.

6. Accidents Happen

We know pets can be unpredictable, and while we strive to maintain a pet-friendly space, we kindly ask that you keep an eye on your pup at all times.

  • If your dog has an accident, please notify us right away so we can clean and sanitize the area properly.

  • Any excessive messes, repeated accidents, or damage to props, furniture, or studio equipment may result in a cleaning or replacement fee.

Our studio is designed to be fun and welcoming—help us keep it that way for every tail that wags through the door!

7. Photo Rights & Usage

All images taken by Tails of ATX Photography are the intellectual property of the studio. We retain full rights to use photos for:

  • Marketing (social media, website, print)

  • Portfolios

  • Advertising and promotional materials

📷 Clients receive licensed digital files or prints as agreed upon at booking.
Unauthorized reproduction or commercial use of images without written permission is not allowed.

8. Cancellations & Rescheduling

We understand that life happens! If you need to cancel or reschedule your session, please give us at least 48 hours’ notice so we can adjust our schedule accordingly.

  • Last-minute cancellations (within 48 hours) may be subject to a fee or loss of deposit.

  • If your session involved custom backdrops, props, or specialty items, please note that deposits may be non-refundable, as those materials are purchased specifically for your session.

  • If your dog is unwell or there's a pet-related emergency, we’re happy to reschedule—your pup’s health always comes first!

9. What to Bring
  • Favorite treats or toys to help us get the best expressions!

  • Collar, leash, poop bags

  • A brush or grooming wipes for last-minute touch-ups
